Deacon Sunday – Oct 13

My wife Patty and I have been members here at Holy Trinity for twenty–three years. We have been participating in Class XII of the Peoria Diocese Diaconate formation program as aspirants. Class XII began formation in February of 2022 and will conclude in December 2027. It is a six year commitment where all couples attend mandatory weekend retreats 10 times a year, along with plenty of homework! We are grateful that the Peoria Diocese requires both husband and wife to attend formation together as we grow in Christ and discern this call as a couple.

The core tenant of a Deacon is to “live a life of service” to glorify God. Deacons live in the world, with jobs and family obligations, like many of you, to serve the community and evangelize for the church. Over the next 3+ years, I’m committed to discern whether or not the Diaconate is the way God wants me to serve. Patty and I appreciate all of your prayers as we move forward in this process. Please be assured that we are praying that each of you are open to God’s plan and find your role for your life in Christ too!
