St. Therese of Lisieux is the patroness of vocations in our diocese. St. Therese taught that following her path of love, her “Little Way,” is a sign of God’s grace. We can commemorate her feast day on October 1 by asking for her intercession to increase vocations in our diocese and for those who are discerning the priesthood or religious life. Join us in our Novena which begins on September 22. The novena pamphlet can be found at the back of our churches. Here is the novena prayer:
St. Therese you answered the Lord’s call to become love in the heart of the Church by entering Carmel and living the hidden life of contemplative prayer, fasting and self-offering for the mission of the Church and the salvation of souls. Through your gracious intercession, grant our prayers for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life in our diocese. Beg our Lord to send us laborers who will be true disciples of the Lord, faithful to the service of His Church, the pursuit of holiness and always eager to place the needs of others before their own. We especially ask you to beg Jesus to send us an abundance of priests after the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We make this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
