Empower Illinois Scholarship Program

Corpus Christi and Central Catholic have been selected to receive a scholarship matching gift opportunity from John and Kathy Schreiber.  They are sponsoring a 1:1 matching gift program for donations raised toward Empower tax credit scholarships.  For every dollar raised through Empower Illinois the Schreibers will match the donation up to $15,000.  This program begins on February 1, 2021 and ends on March 31, 2021. Please consider making your donation today and help make this opportunity a success!

You can provide a quality education to children in our parish to families qualifying for tuition assistance who attend Corpus Christi or Central Catholic while also receiving a state tax credit yourself.  The Tax Credit Scholarship Program is a result of the Invest in Kids Act passed in the Illinois legislature in 2017. The Tax Credit Scholarship program offers a 75 percent income tax credit to individuals or businesses that contribute to qualified Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) like Empower Illinois.  The SGOs then provide scholarships for students whose families meet the income requirements to attend qualified private schools like Corpus Christi and Central Catholic.  We currently have families from our parish who have applied for the scholarship and are waiting for funding for the next school year.  If you would like more information about this program or are interested in making a donation, please see the website or contact Kathy Wieland at 309-825-2434.

St Vincent De Paul needs volunteers

Saint Vincent De Paul Pantry

Saint Vincent De Paul Pantry Needs Volunteers for Proposed Saturday Morning Food Distribution.

Expansion of our food sharing mission would better serve our clients and offer new volunteer opportunities to those unable to volunteer on Monday. Our plan is to operate two Saturdays each month and to begin in November--- assuming we have enough volunteers. This can be a very rewarding opportunity of service.
