Communal Anointing of the Sick – February 4/5

Communal Anointing of the Sick

The weekend of February 4th & 5th after all Masses

At both Saturday evening Masses as well as at all three Sunday Masses on February 4/5, Fr Peter and I will offer the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick immediately after the conclusion of Mass. If you are easily able, please come to the front pews of the church. If you do not wish/aren’t able to come to the front of church, please stay in place in your pew and I will make my way to you. This (under-utilized) Sacrament was given to us by Jesus for the healing and well-being of those who are sick. Catholics who have at least reached the ‘Age of Reason’ and who are gravely ill and/or who have chronic affliction(s) and who are in danger of death are candidates for this Sacrament. Also, Catholics who are to undergo a serious operation are candidates for this Sacrament. Also, Catholics feeling the seriously-debilitating effects of old age are candidates for this Sacrament. Let us all pray daily for those who are sick, to serve as an instrument of healing for all our brothers and sisters.

“Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.”
