Ministry Fair Success and Thank You

Those are applause of gratitude you hear , and deservedly so,  for those who braved the obstacles and participated in this weekend’s Ministry Fair event; either by hosting, exhibiting, or showing up and providing support of your fellow parishioners. A special thanks goes to YOU who got up out of the pews or off your sofas and made the effort to learn more about these ministries and are considering giving of your time and talents.

As mentioned, it’s part of our discipleship as we are called to be active participants.  Why not begin with one of our ministries ? The more hands involved the lighter the load, the greater the reach the bigger the impact.  We must be the way. The example the world sees as the Church, our Catholic community. Today our culture tells us we should view the Church through the often misguided regularly misinformed self-centered eyes of the world when we would be better advised to view the world through the eyes of the Church and its teachings.

Some of these ministries, though essential, function behind the scenes making things happen.  Others are more obvious and add to our worship and fellowship experience.  Still others through that lens of the Church reach outside to be a presence, some great, some small, for those marginalized in and by our community.  Disciples doing the work we are called to so for others walking the walk and talking the talk. Evangelization in the process.  Love your neighbor as yourself.

The harvest is bountiful the laborers are needed. I want to express my heartfelt thanks those ministries and the ministers that gave of their time to you this weekend.
